Thinking ahead
Achieving ISO 14001 committed us to continual improvement. We’ve made great progress in embedding sustainable practices and systems throughout DLA Piper, and this has given us a valuable baseline of data to work with for the future. We recognise that collecting, analysing and verifying data from across our global operations is a challenging exercise, but it is our intention to publicly report our global targets and objectives in the near future.
We’re committed to engaging with each other and with our clients and suppliers on environmental sustainability issues. Our information and awareness campaigns have resulted in dramatic improvements on many fronts, and we’ll keep them up. From small but significant steps such as encouraging double-sided printing to major investments such as installing the latest video-conferencing facilities and installing motion sensitive lighting in our buildings and monitoring our business air travel - which went carbon neutral in 2007- we are constantly finding ways to mitigate the impact we have on our environment. By putting our people in control of their environment and working together, we will improve our performance each year. We made that promise years ago, and we’re keeping it.
Full review for 2010 - We are conducting a full review of our Global Sustainability Initiative in June 2010 and will report back key findings.
