Sowing Seeds

You cannot help communities only from behind a desk. Communities need to be nurtured by people on the ground. At DLA Piper we understand that it’s the time, commitment and enthusiasm of our people in local offices that help develop and sustain vibrant community relationships.

We canvass our partners, fee earners and others and listen to their ideas for the optimal community projects. We give our offices the autonomy to choose their areas of focus. We provide the structure and framework and try to encourage a wide range of activities, from fundraising and making donations to rolling up our sleeves and getting directly involved.

Partnering with voluntary sector and nonprofit organizations already working in our communities offers a great way to connect and increase value. Experienced groups on the ground understand the issues and challenges that communities face and help us direct our efforts where they are most needed. We have long-standing community partnerships in most jurisdictions in which we work.
