Children Reunited
Trade and services are not the only things that move more easily around a globalized world. Children do, too. Without proper representation, foreign nationals face a tough task to secure the return of children kept in the United States without their consent. DLA Piper lawyers support the US State Department and The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) by representing parents attempting to get their children back.
So far we have taken more than 15 Hague Convention cases, reuniting parents and children and negotiating access agreements. DLA Piper’s global reach allows us to work effectively across jurisdictions. According to NCMEC, our Seattle litigation team is now the premier authority on Hague Convention issues on the West Coast. Our briefings are used to inform other lawyers working on similar proceedings across the country.
