Bingo!
As part of our commitment to communities in Florida, DLA Piper has been supporting West Tampa Elementary School for many years, as part of the bar association initiative to connect law firms and elementary schools serving low-income children. Students earn bingo chips by demonstrating good conduct and knowledge of citizenship. At the end of each month, students who reach a bingo are invited to a party with guest speakers, including DLA Piper lawyers. As many as 200 students have qualified for these events.
DLA Piper hosted mid-year and final parties at which three students who were invited to every bingo party during the school year were presented with a special gift. At the end of the year, the most improved students won DVD players and a collection of classic movies.
