The key to a better future
In Spain there is a problem with so-called ‘Children of the key’. These are the offspring of hardworking immigrants who wear a necklace with a key to open the door of their house, because their parents arrive home very late.
The Fundacion Balia por la Infancia aims to help these children by picking them up every day from their school and taking them to a Balia centre. There they can do their homework with the volunteers and take part in educational activities such as computing classes, theatre, and visits to museums.
Balia is very active in terms of promoting its projects, fundraising and expansion and this raises complex image rights, data protection and IP issues. We are happy to provide free advice on these issues as well as guidance on employment, tax, real estate and regulatory law.
For us, pro bono advice does not mean an inferior service and Balia tell us that they feel they are being treated better than a regular client. We are delighted to help this great organisation carry out its vital work.
