Mobi 3 Milan

Following its successful development in France, we are now leading the expansion of the mobi3 programme in Milan, working with Sodalitas, our not for profit partner and the Vodafone and IBM Foundations.

Designed to help young people understand technology and business, 94 pupils from three local schools took part in the pilot year programme. The original mobi³ concept was modified to focus on mobile computing and a new ‘innovation’ module was added to show students how mobile devices are transforming people’s lives and working habits.

IBM taught the pupils how to use 3D design software, and many were able to create innovative designs from scratch in just a few minutes. Vodafone focused on the marketing part of the project, teaching students how to launch the new mobile to the market, and choose the right advert and media to promote it.

Our Real Estate, IP&T and Litigation and Regulatory practice groups hosted the students at our offices for two separate presentations on the legal profession to support the students in the delivery of the legal aspects of the project. We also visited the schools for further sessions to review what the students had achieved and to discuss the specific legal aspects of the module and gain an insight into what they had learned about the law.

A successful finale ceremony marking the end of the project took place in December 2009. All participants agreed that the pilot project had been a great success providing mutual benefit to all involved.
